Contributed a sub-project on Public Works takings of Maori land as part of a wider study of Maori land loss in Tauranga Moana.

  • Developed a methodology to analyse digitised notices of public works takings in the NZ Gazette.
  • Recruited and supervised a team of research assistants for data entry.
  • Contributed cleansed data to the main project and wrote a section on methodology for the report.
  • Defended research findings on public works under cross-examination.
  • Research cited extensively in the report by the Waitangi Tribunal, Tauranga Moana, 1886-2006.
