Developing a database to register an unprecedented number of submissions made from multiple sources on curtailing alcohol sales in the inner city.

Role: Research Analyst Monitoring & Research Unit Christchurch City Council.

Achievements:

  • Registered over 4000 public submissions and reported to council.

Policy Paper:


The Local Alcohol Policy consultation required several Facebook surveys by the Liquor Council to be included along with the official submissions. The output was a word-searchable pdf report the policy analysts could use for manual coding.

  • Built MS Access forms & reports, SQL Server backend database.
  • 4,060 submissions received on the Draft Local Alcohol Policy from multiple sources: 1,053 submissions were received through the Council website, 1,929 submissions were received through the Hospitality New Zealand survey on Facebook, and 1,0708 submissions were received from a Chch Late petition on Facebook.
  • Charts and Graphs were printed on pages 8-49 of the report to Council.
