Waitangi Tribunal Report:


Facilitated a commission of inquiry into 60 contemporary claims remaining after the Waitangi Tribunal had completed its report on the Nineteenth Century, from the first consultation and interlocutory conferences, and a research programme, through to the end of hearings in 2006, and reporting in 2007.

  • Co-ordinated consultative and interlocutory conferences, joint statement of issues and hearings.
  • Advised presiding officer and Tribunal members, drafted Tribunal memoranda.
  • Developed relationships with tangata whenua, legal representatives, and external stakeholders.
  • Co-ordinated research programme, arranged assessment of research needs, drafted project briefs and commissions, engaged and liaised with external contractors, co-ordinated QA of research reports.
  • Developed and maintained inquiry web page and document store.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult iwi, hapu and whanau to develop research programmes.
  • Advise a Commission of Inquiry.

Outcome:

  • Commission of inquiry completed.
